Pink Dresser Giveaway

>> in the spirit of giving <<

a giveaway!

i have been feeling a tad grinchy this christmas.  for reasons i do not know.  i have absolutely nothing to be grinchy about.  in fact, i should be feeling completely the opposite.  i have everything to be joyful about.  i have a man that i love.  he just got news he got an amazing job after a lot of hard work and i am so proud of him.  i have an amazing family who supports and loves me through all my adventures |Renewd Furniture included|.  and a million other things to be incredibly grateful about.

so here goes it.  in the spirit of christmas and giving, i am giving away the beloved pink dresser.

this dresser is a little special to me.  i tend to be a sentimental nerd sometimes and humans stories never cease to intrigue me.  this is probably why i love antiques so much is because unlike ikea furniture, each piece has a very unique story behind it.  it lived in someone elses home.  could have been a good home, could have been a bad home.  it saw peoples lives in action.  it may have been loved, it may have been thrashed.  i always find myself wondering what it has seen in its life.

most of the time i do not have the pleasure of finding out the story of my pieces.  most of the time i am left to use my imagination.  however, with the pink dresser, i got to hear the full story:

i bought this dresser from a little old lady who was being forced to downsize all of her belongings and move in with her family because of her age.  this dresser was her great grandmothers.  and her great grandmother loved this dresser.  she told me that she remembers this dresser in her great grandmothers house when she was a young girl.  her great grandmother didn't have a lot of  money back then but was always able to keep her dresser with her.  so when her great grandmother passed away, she inherited the dresser and her grand kids grew up with the dresser in her house.  she was the cutest old lady and  l o v e d this dresser.  she made me promise that i would give it some much needed love again and make sure that it went to a loving family who would cherish the dresser as much as her family has.  well, i made the promise and i hope to keep it.

i would love to gift this dresser to a family and give it some love again sooo.

1st the worst, 2nd the best.

This dresser...oh this dresser.  I loved this piece from the moment I saw it.  I knew it's potential.  However, it took me a couple weeks to actually purchase the dresser because there was layers and layers of paint that I would have to strip.  At that point I had no idea that I would in fact find 7 COATS off paint...7!!  Cream, and pink, and stain, and crackle medium and more pink...it was a disaster!  I had to strip it 3 times and then sand it.  NOT FUN!  I found some really sweet surprises though when she was all stripped including amazing gold pegged metal legs...EEK!  She was one-hundred percent worth it in the end.

I can't find a pic of the before :( but just know that it was bad.  It had about 10 layers of different kinds of nasty paint.  So I transformed it into this:

Round 1 after: Pretty cute right?

After I finished the dresser, a fellow artist decided she loved the piece but wanted it in a charcoal gray.  So I set out AGAIN on stripping the dresser and doing a custom paint job, and it turned out exactly how it should have always been.

Round 2 after: PERFECTION!

My custom color blocked knobs.  I'm obsessed.

She's gonna look stunning in her new home that looks exactly like a west elm magazine.  By far my favorite piece I've done so far.  This dresser has put me in a Mid-Century Modern mood. I just picked up 4 Mid-Century pieces to redo.  So excited.

Happy December! And Merry Christmas Time!

Meet the new End Tables

I know it has been a long time since I wrote and had any new furniture.  I recently picked up the cutest set of end tables and here they are.

Not lookers eh?

They turned out pretty cute though.  Little pegged legs and all.  Come see them or buy them at Eikens Flea Market this Saturday from 10-2pm at 279 San Jacinto River Rd, Lake Elsinore, 92530 right off Railroad Canyon exit.  My sister and I will be selling a ton of our stuff.

Tomorrow I will be posting an amazing new dresser I just finished :)  Yippie.

Happy November!

The Mint

This dresser has been a working progress for a while.  And I am happy to say I am finally finished with her.  She is one of my favorites so far.  I just love her.  I am tempted to keep her, but we will see.  If you want her, you better come snatch her up fast before I change my mind.  She would look great in one of our photoshoots or as a desert table at a wedding, so I may keep her for that too.  I did some research on her, and I am pretty sure she is from the 60's.

Here she is in her original form:

Here she is after:

AND THERES A SWEET SURPRISE INSIDE...

SURPRISE!
Not only are there 6 more drawers...but they have amazing wallpaper on them.  Nothing like a little print to make you smile everytime you open the doors :) HEHE!

Come get her before I keep her.

I love you all!

Its been a long time...

Folks, it has been a long time since my sister and I have done any sort of social networking.  We took a bit of a sabbatical if you will.  My beautiful nieces have been on summer vaca and have been having a blast not having to be in our store all the time, and I have moved into the cutest little bungalow you ever did see and it has taken a lot of my time getting it move in ready!!

She already had a coat of cream on the top...oops I forgot a before as always!
With that being said, I have been redoing furniture for my own house...FINALLY!  I am beyond excited to share some of my redo's and finds with you.

The 1st one:  The Color Block Table.

This was a thrifted find for 7 buckaroos.  Pegged legged and super modern which my house decor is not, but we will make it work.  I don't really have a good before pic, but it was all light cork-looking partical board so I wanted to do a little color blocking and give the legs a little pazzaz!  I might even add one more color later, I haven't decided.

All you need is some paint.  Tape.  Pencil.  And a tape measure to make sure your legs are all the same length of paint.  Tape off the legs and paint!

Tape off the top where you want the color block on the top and PAINT!

Here she is FINISHED!

I love her.  I may add one more color to the bottom part of the legs, but we will see.  If I do, I will be sure to post it.

I am now working on a mid-century dresser that I will be using as an entertainment center...and I just decided on GRAY as the color :) I am gitty with excitement to finish and show you that one!  Next week!

Also, tomorrow we will finally post one of our stylized photo shoots!!  Super excited about showing you that too!!

Love you all!
